I was perfectly fine with the Evercade as it was, until one day I heard a brief comment (Was it from EOB Pete?) that perked my ears. Did he suggest Blaze are working on a home console version??? I think that would be brilliant. You've probably noticed that a good portion of games for the Evercade were designed around two players. (Wow, remember when couch-coop was a thing?) To bring that back would be phenomenal. I'd love a home console, but even if it just meant linking Evercades, we need multi-player! Just not online... What wishes or info do you have for what's to come?

Didn't hear that about the home console version - interesting though. I'd like some kind of WiFi for online multiplayer - that would be very cool, but I don't think there's a WiFi chip in them, although maybe there is and we just don't know - I haven't seen any teardown videos Also - maybe the ability to save high scores, so when you play a new game the high score is auto set to that saved high. I'd also like a better save - so a little screenshot with each save point, and also some sort of indication like a beep or a check mark when you hit save to know it actually did something.

I dunno, I feel like Wi-Fi and online multiplayer leads to subscription service and microtransactions. Frankly, I'm happy to get away from such things with the Evercade. It just doesn't fit in with the "vibe", imo. I'd be happy just to get firmware updates on the carts, hahaha.
I can totally agree with all your save suggestions! High score saves should, 100%, be implemented.
Oh, and regarding teardown, I haven't got up the nerve to try and get inside my Evercade. It looks like it's just a matter of popping the faceplate off, maybe? Which speaks to my next wish for the future, changeable faceplates!

Yeah I see where you're coming from about the online stuff - it's a fair point. Changeable faceplates would be very cool

I am hoping that future releases will have cool little product catalogs included with the game manuals.
I did tweet at Evercade and asked if there is a possibility of game walkthrough magazines/books for the Evercade games and their response was that they are looking into it.
Now, I know the manuals are very colourful but basic for the games in terms of info. I'm thinking some more in depth info on some of these games would be cool.
Perhaps Retro Gamer magazine was just the beginning with their coverage of the Evercade! (I think I'll grab a copy of that mag with the Evercade articles!)

Did you check out Evercade Info Central's cartridge pages? Our friend Deadl0ck has put a great deal of work into compiling manuals/walkthroughs, for every game, there.

I did see that and it's awesome! But I am a sucker for physical products and these books/guides would be fun to have and flip through. Actually that was the origin of this site, correct? I was using the links a while ago to check out some of the manuals. Now we have a forum and expanded website! Thanks Deadl0ck!

I probably have more guide books than any one man should. And, it would be cool to have a set designed by Blaze, maybe even in the same style as the cartridges.

Here is an image collection of the insides of the console. I just found the images on the facebook unofficial page for evercade, after a reddit user told me about them and then compiled them on imgur. Here is the link: imgur.com/gallery/BFryvuN
And yes the faceplate does come off. Im sure a heat gun or hair dryer would do the trick, as it seems to be stuck on with double sided tape. Then there are screws under the faceplate that holds the front housing/bezel to the back of the shell via screw posts.
Off the bat it looks like the screen will be easily changeable. I cant tell but it looks a lot like a PSP screen. They have PSP IPS replacement screens and ribbon cables that are drop ins. Also the batter looks like an easy replacement if you have any trouble with that.

Awesome! Looks like a lot of adhesive under there. I wonder if the faceplate will be salvageable after prying it off? If a PSP IPS will work in the Evercade it will be an incredible boon. God, how long before we see some pimped-out, glass faceplates??? Somebody call Retromodding, stat!

I found myself wondering if SNK could be the next publisher that Blaze is getting ready to announce. Seems like it an obvious partnership, right? I started digging deeper and figured out, to my surprise, that Blaze was involved with the Neo Geo X. Looking back at the NGX, I can see the Evercade in it. The buttons. The analog stick. I would even speculate they have the same screen. Crazy! I just hope they haven't burnt bridges with SNK.
I'd really like to see a team-up another solid Indie publisher. Devolver, Double Fine, Annapurna, Night School, Flyhigh, any would make me squeal like a schoolgirl.

Anybody have knowledge on whether the Namco collections will be back in stock at the end of the month? I thought they would be, but funstock has them listed as Sold Out, instead of Backordered, which doesn't allow me to put them in my cart. You don't think this next shipment is already sold out, do you?

You don't think this next shipment is already sold out, do you? I was wondering the same thing. I would check their site this week after reading the tweet that Blaze received their stock... surely by now Funstock would have their restocked items? I am waiting to hear from where I ordered my Namco collections (VGP - http://www.videogamesplus.ca) and they show a restock date of Aug 31... so I have a few more days to wait. Time will tell. Perhaps I will get a delightful email from VGP stating my order has shipped and all will be good! lol
