What's up, gang? I'm blakestree (pronounced: Blake's Tree) from Savannah, Georgia. Handhelds are my favorite way to game. Luckily, I just got an Evercade for my 46th birthday. I love that we have a new cartridge-based console to collect for! Illegal ROM machines don't appeal to me. And, heck, I don't even really like purchasing legit digital games. My first console was a 2600. So, I'm thrilled to find new games of the era that I never knew, as well as rediscover ones I may have forgotten. I'm, also, well pleased that Blaze isn't just leaving it for nostalgia, and they're bringing us new, fresh games, too! Very excited to see what the future holds for this bold device. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to track down the Namco collections, yet. edit: I also wanted to thank Deadl0ck for putting the info site and this forum together for us!

Hey there blakestree - welcome ! Great idea to have an introduction thread I'm in Ireland and I've been gaming as long as I can remember - I'm also 46 (but 47 on Sunday). I'm a big retrogamer and I have a lot of the original consoles, my latest acquisition being a Vectrex. I love the physical media for the Evercade, and I've never had a complete collection of anything so I'm really digging the Evercade. I also like that it's not 1000s of roms - I've been there before and you don't stick with the games when there are too many of them. Thanks for the kind words about the Website - I initially came up with it as I started to look for the original games manuals, then I decided that I'd put it all in a website. There is also a great Unofficial facebook page that runs competitions and high score challenges - you should check it out if you have time: www.facebook.com/groups/2537048386509890/

Quite an interesting contraption! Also, please forgive me for saying, but I recently developed an affection for Ireland after watching Derry Girls. It's cracker!

Hey everyone! I'm new (I suppose most users are on here lol) and just started my journey with the Evercade (got it on the 21st of July). So far I'm loving it! I'm from Canada and really like playing these collections of games. Some I recall fondly and others I never played (or even heard of in some cases!) and it amazes me that I've missed out on some of these games. It just proves that there are tons of games out there!
I started my collection with the system and 3 included pack-in carts (Interplay, Data East and Atari). I also added Megacat and Technos carts to the order. I've been playing a lot of Double Dragon and finally enjoying the game (I didn't like it in the 80's). Overall, I'm having a blast with the Evercade and having physical carts to collect is a major factor for my collecting (of course playing the games is THE reason to collect).
I pre-ordered the Oliver Twins and Xeno Crisis/Tanglewood collections and will be getting the carts I'm missing from the original ten when my shop gets re-stocked! I better pre-order the Lynx collections soon as well. lol I'm excited to see what else Evercade brings out for the remainder of 2020 and whatever we may see in 2021!
Anyway, enough of my rambling... thanks for the web site!

Seeing the cool avatars you guys are using and my sad little default one... time for me to correct that. I know it will be Evercade related but what should I do? hmm..

Hey, im 32 and a pretty big collector of physical video games. Im from Indianapolis, Indiana and I love playing on original hardware, with a twist. I like to customize and mod the hardware to bring it up to current standards. I especially love hand helds. my modded GBA is a prized possession. Even though it isnt the most impressive thing i own, it was my first project a few years back. I hope some like minded enthusiasts can figure out what makes the evercade tick so we can make it better and have a longer lasting life span for the console.
